WODU Radio NEWS!

Last weekend, the 757 experienced a snowstorm of epic proportions for this area.  Everyone and their mama was rushing out to the nearest Farm Fresh to stock up on necessities to brave the storm...food, flashlights, water and lots and lots of beer :)  The actual storm consisting of heavy snow and howling wind gusts caused everyone to be trapped inside their apartment/dorm/house/box pretty much all weekend.  When everything was all said and done, snow totals reached an amount that has not been seen in this area since 1989!  Norfolk received between 7-8 inches of snow, Chesapeake saw anywhere from 6-7 inches, and Virginia Beach got slammed with a whopping 9 inches!  What did ODU students do to pass the time?  Why, they had snowball fights of course!  Several snow ball fights broke out in front of Webb Center.  One particular snow ball fight had as many as 300 students participating!  I did manage to get a video of a smaller snowball war going on that particular day, courtesy of Jenny de Jaager.



I feel like I live in Seattle with all this rain we've been getting.  This weekend is calling for even more rain!  Right now meteorologists are forecasting between 1-3 inches.  There is a huge possibility that some snow will be mixed in.  Will we get even more snow?  Exactly how much?  Only time will tell...
